How We Work

Medilink has invested heavily in ensuring it has robust systems and expertise in place to ensure that however atypical any aeromedical evacuation, the situation is handled smoothly as routine.

At the heart of MIAA operations is our Emergency Mission Control based at Medilink International headquarters in Malta. Manned 24/7 by a multilingual team of topside medics with aeromedical training, it coordinates all air ambulance and related aeromedical requests for assistance.

The centre’s consultant doctors support the air ambulance crew, coordinating all five phases of a successful medevac: Activation, Mobilisation, Medevac, Hand-over, and Post-flight review.

Throughout the transfer, the medical team is in constant communication with our Mission Control from where our topside support doctors provide constant support and advice keeping the client, ground ambulance services, and the departure and recipient hospitals continuously updated.

In addition, MIAA mission control staff provide efficient quotations within short timeframes to ensure quick and efficient deployment of aeromedical services.

Other Assistance Services
In addition to fully coordinating the air ambulance requirements, medical escort and organ transportation, our mission control also organises:

  • Ground ambulance at all locations.
  • Hospital admission.
  • Doctor’s visits to patients either awaiting transfer or for any other.
  • Medical reason.
  • Other ground logistics (taxis, hotel, etc).
  • Cash advance.
